ALIBI

PRIVACY

Designed to know the case, not your life.

Alibi stores only the information needed to run and recover Discord games and maintain optional server statistics.

What Alibi stores

Active cases may store Discord server and user IDs, display names, the case voice-channel ID, selected settings, role/game state, fictional per-match character traits, notebook entries, votes/actions, spectators and recovery timestamps. Completed-game statistics may store games, wins, alignments, deaths and in-game kills per user and server.

Voice and text-to-speech

Alibi does not record, transcribe, analyze or retain voice audio. The /say command sends text you explicitly provide to Alibi's synthetic text-to-speech system. A server operator may optionally enable automatic TTS for ordinary messages written in the active Alibi voice channel's built-in text chat. That optional feature requires Discord's Message Content intent and is used only to read eligible case-room messages for speech; it is disabled by default.

Fictional evidence

Alibi does not infer players' real physical characteristics. Shoe size, coat color, handedness, accessories, aliases and similar evidence traits are generated fictional attributes for that match.

Retention and deletion

Active-case data is retained so a match can recover after a restart and is removed when the case is cleaned up. Aggregate server game statistics remain until deleted. Use /forget to delete your stored statistics for the current server.

Hosting

This project is self-hostable. The operator of a particular Alibi instance controls that instance's server and storage. If you use someone else's hosted instance, contact that operator for infrastructure-specific retention or access questions.
